This movie is currently available to stream on Netflix and is not to be missed. Amazing!!!
“Remember that children, marriages, and gardens reflect the kind of care they get.”
- H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
If that quote is true, my kids make me and my wife look good. Watch, now that I posted that online they’re probably going to become meth addicts or televangelists. Keep coming back and I’ll keep you updated.
As far as marriage goes, she hasn’t walked out on me yet. I’d tell you more, but that might be what sends her packing. Anyway, we’ve been married for 19 years! That has to reflect something good (probably God’s grace more than anything).
And then there’s my last (and only) attempt at growing a vegetable garden. It didn’t go well. But that was before FGMO Products! [Insert fanfare here.]
This is aquaculture meets hydroponics meets the Merry Monk of Love. It’s Monk-O-Ponics, baby!
(The music should still be playing in the background as you read this.)
Behold the tilapia that now inhabit the elegantly designed tank just outside my kitchen window. Those fish provide the fertilizer for the system. That there is poo water they’re swimming in.
Now, before you call PETA or the ASPCA, you should know that the poo water is sucked out of the tank by a high-quality pump and sent into grow tubes where the roots of the plants will provide natural filtration (while soaking up the nutrients they need) before sending the water back to the tilapia.
Plus, all the seeds are non-genetically modified, so the plants will be self-perpetuating the way they used to be before Monsanto controlled our food supply.
There’s so much more I could tell you about this system, but the bottom line is that if I don’t screw something up, vegetables are on the way! See the 18 holes in the pipes? That’s where I just planted tomatoes and peas and cucumbers and peppers and lettuce and spinach and melons and herbs and more!
On top of all that, up on the balcony, my garden and I have the high ground. When the zombie apocalypse comes, I’ll be up there picking off the hordes of undead while my well-cared-for family and I enjoy fresh fish and vegetables from my aquaponics farm.
By the way, if you have a yard, Ben has developed a large grow bed system with a bigger tank for fish. Visit FGMO Products on Facebook to learn more about that and the flat farm (which I have). These gardens are way more affordable than you may think.

“Writing a book is an adventure. To begin with, it is a toy and an amusement; then it becomes a mistress, and then it becomes a master, and then a tyrant. The last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster, and fling him out to the public.”
